6 Pack packaging

By shayna, July 25, 2010

I am happy to announce snazzy new packaging for my 6 packs of cards.  I found these lovely boxes on ClearBags.com .  I chose the craft paper base for a more natural feel and tie it off with a lovely green satin ribbon.  I think they look pretty sharp,  if I do say so myself.  All items are posted on etsy!

Steel Petal Press – business cards

By shayna, June 17, 2010

I just placed an order for Steel Petal Press business cards through the online vendor, Vista Print.  I feel a little guilty / hypocritical being a letterpress printer and purchasing cheap business cards online, but Let me explain! – I have good reason!

I have hand-printed my own business cards in the past but I hardly EVER gave them away.  Not only did they take a along time to print, but it also cost quite a bit in materials as well.  I still have them; they are beautiful and I love them, but I cherished them so dearly I found myself holding on to them.  I know what happens at craft fairs.  People will take a stack of cards from all vendors they find even remotely interesting and then discard them all a week later.  (I’m guilty of this myself)  I couldn’t bear to think of my beautiful little labors of love being tossed aside so inconsequentially.  I wanted who ever took one of my cards to love it as much as I did.  It was my high standards and high expectations that kept those little cards stored in my top drawer for the last five years.  I did give some away, but with extreme discretion. And now I still have all of these gorgeous two color silk screened plus letterpress printed business cards that I can’t bear to part with.

What’s the point of business cards if no one else sees them, right?   SO — I have ordered a set to which I feel much less emotionally attached that I can disperse freely, with out guilt to the masses.  I am still saving the ‘good cards’ only for those deserving.

Do you forgive me??
