I finished printing and shipped out two big orders last week. (or was it two weeks ago?) and finally got a chance to finish documenting and photo editing. Below is a picture of ALL the letterpress cards ready to package and ship out!
That’s a lot of cards! You can see more details of the invitations by accessing my flickr site: HERE

It definitely feels like a huge accomplishment getting this order completed.
Next up: letterpress Thank You cards for my own wedding AND another custom order of the “Hands Ceremony” that will be printed to be given as a wedding gift.
How Lovely!
“Blessing of the Hands” revised by Rev. Daniel L. Harris
These hands holding you on your wedding day are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.
These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear and grief wracks your mind.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.
These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.
I finally finished letterpress printing a large order yesterday. — Just in time for the long weekend! I am packaging it up now and it will be in the mail before I head out to a friend’s lake house in Indiana for the 4th of July. I’m really looking forward to a much needed few days to relax.
I already documented everything and I will hopefully be posting those pix soon.
It’s been gorgeous and sunny in Chicago too! I’ve been biking everywhere which is definitely adding to my good moods.
In honor of summer I added a “Summer 6 pack” of letterpress greeting cards on Etsy. You can find the listing by clicking here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/50527750/summer-6-pack-6-letterpress-printed
It includes 2 bike cards, a flower card, a carrot card for gardening, the chicken card for farmer’s markets and a shell card for all that lovely beach time we’ve all been craving.
I hope everyone out there is outside and enjoying this gorgeous weather as much as I am!
Below are some new images of the invitations I letterpressed for my California wedding. It will be a casual weekend campout sans family so I was going for the outdoors-y, nature vibe with a touch of class. I really like the deep impression I got on this invitation. There’s lots of lovely texture. The invitations are printed in green, but California in the summer is hot and dry. I’m sure the site for the party will be brown and dried out. Still, makes me think of outdoors.

Summer hours are limited in staffing at the studio right now, so I’ve only been able to get in once a week the last two weeks. I plan on spending another marathon day printing next Thursday to finish up the two other custom jobs just in the nick of time.

There are so many exciting projects I’m working on right now.
The first being some fun custom jobs I’ve been working on.
1) fAdam and Stephanie’s Invitations and Reply cards and Thank You cards. They’ve had lots of wonderful ideas which have taken me out of my comfort zone and have been a pleasure to work with
2) I designed cards for Cara announcing her elopement in Texas. Cara had purchased a card from me about a year ago (2009) through my etsy shop when it had just, just just opened. A year later she contacted me about designing this custom card for her. She really appreciates and understand my aesthetic and has been amazing to work with. It’s both flattering and reasuring. I feel like I must be doing something right
3) My own wedding invitations for my 2nd, more casual wedding in California.
All very exciting!
Next, I will plan on applying to be a vendor at IndieWed next January 2011 in Chicago (straight from the website):
“Indie Wed caters to not only unconventional couples who are taking a more modern, edgy, or eco-friendly approach to their special day but also the more conservative couples who simply want to add some special touches. The event highlights the work of independent designers specializing in various wedding related fields including stationery, cakes & pastries, fashion, catering, floral design, photography and more.”
The applications opened today and close July 30th, 2010. I plan on spending the next 2 months printing and prepping to get my portfolio for the application.
THIRD: I’m still coordinating with the ladies at WolfBait, but I’ll probably be hosting a book binding workshop in their shop sometime this summer or early Fall. I’ll keep you all posted on that.
For now, yay! for working on what I love!

Also some new Save the Date cards for Adam and Stephanie shown below.

And mine:

So, I’ve been busy really busy the last few months which is why I haven’t updated for a while. Since the Valentine’s Day show at Handmade Market, I’ve been busy, busy designing and printing Save the Date cards and wedding invitations for both my own wedding and a friend’s.
I just finished up my final day of printing the invitations for my wedding today. I finished up the Save the Date cards a few weeks ago, but haven’t had a chance to properly document or post pictures just yet.
Planning a wedding is a lot of work (and can get stressful) so I’ve fallen behind on my business endeavors. Next week I plan on getting pictures taken, posted and updates.
I’ll also post the Save the Dates I did for my friends.
